Police searching for suspect in death of 22-year-old Phoenix man

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is asking for help finding a suspect involved in the death of a 22-year-old Phoenix man.

Around 6:30 p.m. on June 15, officers were called to a home near 40th Avenue and Roosevelt Street for reports of a shooting.

When they arrived they found 22-year-old Alexander Lopez-Perez with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later died.

Authorities have released surveillance video of the shooting in hopes of identifying a shooter.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5'11" tall, about 170 pounds, with a beard. He was seen wearing a black and white plaid button down shirt and a black hat.

He was seen leaving the area in a dark blue SUV or possibly a Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Anybody with information is urged to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. A cash reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
