PHOENIX — Two people are dead and another is hurt after a shooting in south Phoenix Friday night.
Phoenix police say the shooting happened near 7th and Southern avenues just after 9 p.m.
Two people were taken to the hospital. One of the victims, identified as 31-year-old Monica Ornelas, died from her injuries. The other person, a man, has non-life threatening injuries.
Police say witnesses identified the shooter as 39-year-old Juan Solorio-Menera. Officers were led to a house near I-17 and Indian School road where they found that the man had shot and killed himself.
It is currently unknown what led to the shooting.
