PHOENIX — A family of four will be spending their Christmas Eve looking for another place to enjoy the holidays after their house suffered damages due to a fire Thursday afternoon.
The Phoenix Fire Department said firefighters responded to a house fire around noon. A911 call reported large amounts of smoke and flames coming from the front door and carport of a home located near 15th Avenue and Sonora Street.
Firefighters arrived and quickly extinguished the fire while also avoiding it from spreading to nearby homes.
The residents of the home were already outside before firefighters arrived at the scene, according to Phoenix Fire.
A family of four and two dogs was displaced because of the fire.
Fire officials said Phoenix Fire crisis response units will help the family get lodging for the night.
No injuries were reported due to the fire and its cause remains under investigation.
