Bringing families, friends and neighbors together. Every year, cities across the Valley hold a Unity Walk to celebrate diversity in Arizona.

This year, they're putting artwork from these communities front and center.

If you visit the Regional Unity Artwalk's website, you'll find artwork located in seven cities throughout the Valley. Organizers want you to take the time to visit these different pieces of art and learn about them.

Don Logan, Director of Phoenix's Equal Opportunity Department, says in a time where there is division throughout the country, everyone should take a moment to learn about different cultures.

“This group has been working for 18 years to create a platform where communities can come together and work in harmony, work to gain better understanding and appreciation of each other," Logan said. "So, from a timing standpoint, given where we’ve been and where we are this is just another vehicle where Unity Artwalk can be part of the healing process."

While you visit these different sites, organizers encourage you to get some takeout at restaurants nearby to support small businesses.

Regional Unity Artwalk 2021 continues throughout the month of January and ends on January 31.
