PHOENIX — At least 45 cats and dogs have been seized from a Phoenix animal shelter Wednesday.
Phoenix police say they responded along with the Arizona Humane Society to the Az Dog Adoptions shelter near 19th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road around 11:15 a.m. for a welfare check.
Investigators determined many of the dogs and cats had not received medical treatment and were not being cared for.
