PHOENIX — Approximately 20 people have been rescued from a possible human smuggling ring in Phoenix, according to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson.
Federal agents say Phoenix police contacted them about a potential stash house near 27th Avenue and Camelback Road around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities say they do not have any details regarding the country of origin, gender or age of the people rescued at this time.
"This is an ongoing investigation," said ICE spokesperson Yasmeen Pitts O'Keefe.
