A possible child abduction case is still a mystery more than a week after it was initially reported.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office held a community meeting Thursday evening at Shadow Ridge High School to address concerns.
Around 50 people listened as lead investigators explained why they searched the area for more than 12 hours and didn't find a child.
MCSO says two credible, independent child witnesses reported a child had been taken from a bike and thrown into a white van.
Investigators revealed the description and circumstances were very similar to another incident in the west Valley, but declined to give further details.
Investigators say the witnesses coupled with another on-going investigation ramped up the urgency.
200 personnel, five road blocks and door-to-door searches put a neighborhood on edge.
Investigators say, to date, there has not been a child reported missing.
However, they will continue working the case, because they can't rule out, a parental abduction, or other scenarios where a child could have been abducted and not reported to police.
