PD: Man dies after being shot in Phoenix, suspect outstanding

PHOENIX, AZ — A man has died after being shot in Phoenix on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the incident happened around 3 p.m. near 19th and Peoria avenues.

Police say 23-year-old Mikal Williams was standing in parking lot in the area when a silver or gray four-door sedan stopped nearby. A suspect got out of the vehicle and shot several times at Williams. The suspect reportedly got back into their vehicle and fled westbound on Sahuaro Drive.

Williams was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
