PHOENIX — A man is in critical condition after being struck by a car in west Phoenix Saturday evening.
The collision happened near 51st Avenue and Camelback Road around 4:20 p.m.
Police say the 30-year-old was crossing in the crosswalk on Camelback when he was struck by an SUV traveling north on 51st Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle remained at scene and impairment does not appear to be a factor, according to Phoenix Police Sgt. Mercedes Fortune.
"The driver was issued a citation for driving without a license among other traffic violations," said Fortune.
