Two people were shot during an overnight altercation in a west Phoenix apartment parking lot.
The incident happened around midnight on Wednesday in the area of 27th Avenue and Camelback Road.
Police say a man and woman in a car parked in a rear lot and were met by two others who stood outside of their vehicle to talk. An unknown suspect approached them and began firing, hitting the woman in the car and a man standing outside of it.
Officials say a 38-year-old woman was shot in the head and airlifted to a local hospital in critical but stable condition. A 24-year-old man was shot in the ankle and also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The shooter fled the scene on foot, according to information at the scene.
Police said there is no suspect information available for release.
