A motorcycle rider and a passenger have been taken to the hospital after a crash Monday night.

A spokeswoman with the Phoenix Fire Department said the pair, a 63-year-old man and a woman in her 40s, were taken to trauma centers from the intersection of 73rd Avenue and Indian School Road. Authorities said both had non-life threatening injuries.

The riders were thrown a short distance at the time of the crash. firefighters said. They were not wearing helmets.
