PHOENIX — Authorities are investigating a crash involving the Phoenix Police Department in the west Valley.
Around 5:00 a.m. Sunday, emergency crews were called to 75th Avenue and Indian School for a crash involving a Phoenix police cruiser.
According to a tweet from Phoenix PD, officers were investigating a fatal crash in the area when a DUI driver crashed into their vehicle.

Authorities at the scene tell ABC15, officers were on scene investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian about a half-block north of 75th Avenue and Indian School.
Two officers were sitting in the cruiser when a driver went through barricades and hit the police vehicle, which had its lights activated.
The officers were taken to a hospital for evaluation and are said to have non-life threatening injuries.
The driver had to be extricated from the wreckage and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities say DUI is suspected to be the cause of the crash.
Information on the initial crash involving a pedestrian hasn't been released.
The area will remain shutdown to traffic until further notice.
