Authorities say one person is in extremely critical condition after a shooting Monday afternoon in Phoenix.
Officers responded to a neighborhood near 35th Avenue and McDowell around 2:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
Police say a person in a gray vehicle was found shot nearby, around 37th Drive and Palm Lane.
Around the same time, a carjacking was reported just blocks away. Police say a pickup truck was taken and was found crashed near 38th Avenue and McDowell Road.
The driver that was carjacked was not seriously injured.
Police said investigators were still working to determine what connection, if any, the two incidents had to each other.
No suspects were found at the scene of the crash or the shooting.
Police asked people to avoid the area to allow investigators space to work.
