A Glendale man has been arrested on his fifth domestic violence charge in six months.
Court documents say 30-year-old Angelo Edward Perez has been arrested five times between July 12, 2015 and Jan. 4, 2016.
In the most recent incident, a woman told police that she tried to open the door to her apartment and found it blocked by a chair, court documents said. She then told police that Perez came to the door from inside her apartment holding a butcher knife and told her to leave.
Police allege Perez was waiting with the knife in the woman's apartment for her to come home.
Officers had to use pepper ball rounds to get the man to come out of the apartment.
He was arrested and booked into jail under suspicion of aggravated assault, criminal trespassing and violating an order of protection, among other re-charges. He's being held on a $20,000 bond.
Online records show Perez has been convicted of previous domestic violence-related charges dating back to 2010.
