A Valley teenager is recovering after telling police he was shot inside his car early Friday morning.
Phoenix police say the incident happened around 4:30 a.m. near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road.
The 18-year-old told officers he and a friend were sitting in the car when someone tried to rob them.
He said he tried to drive away, but the suspect fired at least two rounds and he ran into a light pole.
Authorities say the bullet grazed the man in the back of the head, but he is expected to be okay.
There is no suspect description at this time.
