PD: 3 arrested after car, foot pursuit in W.Phoenix; trio may be linked to other crimes, homicide

Police have taken into custody several people who they believe may be connected to a spree of Valley robberies and a homicide after they were arrested by police early Friday morning. 

Phoenix kidnapping, robbery

According to officials, a vehicle was taken during a robbery on Thursday after a person was forced into a car and driven to an ATM somewhere in Phoenix. It's unknown at what time the incident happened; police say this crime is likely connected to the trio. 

West Phoenix shooting

According to police, a person was shot near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road. It reportedly occurred during an attempted robbery; police say this crime is also likely connected to the trio.

According to the police, the victim of the shooting was pronounced dead at a location near 27th Avenue and Camelback Road. The victim was reportedly driven to this location where officials pronounced them dead. People at the scene gave police a suspect description of two black men who fled in a red car. 

Buckeye attempted robbery 

Police say a person was approached by an armed man who demanded he give up his personal property while at a Circle K in Buckeye near Watson Road and Sundance Avenue at 4:32 a.m. The suspects fled the scene and traveled east on I-10, but police were unable to stop the vehicle around 51st Avenue and I-10.  Police say the robbery is also likely connected to the trio. 

McDowell attempted robbery, arrests

On Friday morning, the stolen vehicle led police on a pursuit until pulling off of Interstate 10 and exiting on 43rd Avenue. Three suspects bailed out of the car and went into an apartment complex in the area of 39th Avenue and McDowell Road.  

Police say two men and one woman then tried to rob a man who was sitting in his car at the apartment complex. The man was pistol whipped, and that's when the victim rammed his car into other vehicles trying to get away from his attackers. A shot was fired, but no one was hit by the bullet. Several vehicles were damaged. 

Police chased the three suspects who all ran in different directions. All three were detained, and the gun used during the attack was located. Another suspect was also taken into custody in the parking lot of the apartment complex, their connection to any of the crimes is unknown. Police say one individual who was handcuffed was able to get away from a police officer but was then detained a second time.
