Seeing an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend is almost always an awkward encounter, but for one woman it became very dangerous when she was shot at while retrieving her belongings from her ex's home.
According to court documents, in the early morning of Jan. 7, near 27th Avenue and Osborn, a woman and her new boyfriend returned to her ex-boyfriend's home to get her belongings.
Police said that as the victims were pulling out of the driveway, 30-year-old Alejandro Morales Avalos fired two shots.
Police later found a .40 caliber handgun and drugs in the house. Avalos told police that he did fire two shots into the ground to scare them because he didn't want them coming back there. However, he denies shooting at the victims.
Avalos will face charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, drug possession and aShannon's law violation.
