SFMD later clarified that 17 children and 2 drivers in total were treated on scene, but only two children were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. Authorities said there were about 50 to 60 kids on each bus.
Two buses were just leaving school for the day when one of the buses rear-ended the other, officials say. Immediately following the incident, school administration communicated what had happened to parents.
