MESA, AZ — Thousands lost power as a monsoon storm moved into the southeast Valley on Wednesday night.

SRP says more than 15,000 customers were without power Wednesday night, most of them in an area north of the US 60 between Mesa and Apache Junction. That number was down to about 400 customers early Thursday morning.

Areas around the Loop 202 north of the US 60 in east Mesa received up to an inch of rain in less than an hour. To check how much rain fell near you, click here.
APS said it had 13,000 customers without power as of 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, but power had been mostly restored by Thursday morning, when just 400 customers remained without power.
