Armed woman dead after officer-involved shooting near Dobson and Germann roads

CHANDLER, AZ — An armed woman is dead after a shooting involving Chandler police officers Thursday afternoon.

The shooting happened at around 2:30 p.m. Thursday near Dobson and Germann roads.

Chandler police say they received a call regarding a suspicious person and domestic violence situation.

When officers arrived, they heard loud sounds coming from inside an apartment. Police say the noises sounded like items breaking.

A woman exited the apartment with a firearm, according to police. Officers gave orders to the woman to drop the gun, but say she did not.

That is when the officer-involved shooting occurred.

The woman was pronounced dead. She has been identified by police as 49-year-old Lorie Martha O'Neal.

No officers were injured during this incident.
