Chandler police have made an arrest after a suspected drunk driver killed a woman in her 50's on Saturday night.

Police say 27-year-old Kinton Bruce was arrested after he tried fleeing the scene and faces multiple charges.

Around 9:15 p.m. three vehicles collided at the intersection of Ray and Price roads.

Police say Bruce was driving eastbound on Ray Road and entered the intersection at a high rate of speed.

Bruce reportedly ran a red light and struck a vehicle that was driving northbound on Price Road.

The car that was struck was occupied by a woman, Judy Kurtz who was 56, and she was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Police say after the collision Bruce fled from his car on foot after it rolled several times. He was later apprehended by a Good Samaritan a quarter of a mile away.

Officers then arrived and placed Bruce into custody.

Following field sobriety tests, he was arrested for DUI and later booked into jail on one count of manslaughter, hit and run, and two counts of endangerment.

A preliminary breath test used on Bruce showed that his blood alcohol content read .255.

Bruce said he ran after the crash, without checking on the motorists, because he had anxiety.
