CHANDLER, AZ — Chandler investigators said they want to speak to Lori Vallow once she is extradited to Idaho. The 46-year-old is in a Hawaii jail facing multiple charges, including two felony counts of desertion and non-support of dependent children.

Her kids, 7-year-old JJ Vallow and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan have been missing since September.

Chandler police said they are looking for a break in their investigation into the homicide of Lori's ex-husband Charles Vallow. He was shot twice by Lori's brother Alex Cox on July 11, 2019. Cox said it was self-defense.

“We’ve really exhausted pretty much everything we can exhaust, and we’re really in the same place that we’re in," said Chandler Detective Seth Tyler. “At this point all that we have the information that Alex gave us."

Cox died in Gilbert in December 2019. His death is under investigation and police wait for the autopsy results.

Chandler police have been looking through tons of evidence obtained from search warrants, including an email that involved Chad Daybell. It was allegedly written and sent by Charles Vallow to Daybell in June.

But Charles said it had been Lori who created an account and sent that letter to Chad herself.

“First we have to determine what’s the validity of these emails, and once that’s established if it is, how do these add value to our investigation?" said Det. Tyler.

Chandler investigators said they want to get closer to the Vallow family. Ideally, they'd like to ask Lori and Tylee more questions.

“We’re hoping that with Lori in custody, that perhaps Gilbert PD or Rexburg PD are able to reach a conclusion in their case that will provide some direction for us to go regarding is our case a closed case, do we keep it open and continue investigating?" said Det. Tyler.
