Ever hear a kid talking about meeting a professional athlete? Now is their chance!
Dozens of kids are living their dream this week at the Steven Hunter NBA skills campin Chandler.
NBA player alumni Steven Hunter is hosting the camp for kids 7 to 15 years old.
The goal is to teach youth to excel above and beyond the rim.
Hunter says, “We aim to teach kids the life skills necessary to be not only successful basketball players but more importantly to be high character individuals.”
Ninety percent of the kids attending received scholarships because Hunter says he wants to give them opportunities they may not be able to afford.
Lunch is provided, plus a free t-shirt, prizes and the gift of learning life skills from a mentor.
Friday, June 15th is the last day of this camp but they support the campers throughout the year.
