Google has announced the creation of a testing facility in the Valley for self-driving cars.
The company first began testing in Chandler six months ago to test the cars in an array of conditions including extreme heat, watering trucks, five-stack traffic lights and even a haboob.
It was announced that Google will build a 39,000 square foot space in west Chandler, a specific location is unknown at this time.
The facility will act as a hub for all testing in the area, including a base to maintain the fleet of self-driving vehicles with eventual plans to expand throughout the Metro Phoenix area.
