CHANDLER, AZ — A man has been taken into custody in connection with the disappearance of a missing Chandler woman, police say.
Chandler police say Amy "Ruby" Leagans was reported missing on Oct. 27 after family said they hadn't heard from her since Oct. 21.
Investigators determined there were suspicious circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
Investigators on Tuesday said they believed Timothy Sullivan, 61, may have been connected to Leagans' disappearance and death, and reported that they were actively searching for him. Sullivan was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon, Chandler police confirmed.
Phoenix police found Leagans' remains November 17 near a river bottom near Central Avenue, north of Broadway Road.
