More information is coming to light regarding a deadly crash involving a pedestrian in Sun Lakes Friday night.

Authorities were called to the area of Dobson and Ocotillo roads around 8 p.m. after receiving reports of a car accident.

A man who was walking his dog in the area noticed a Toyota Prius in the middle of the road with the engine running, driver’s side door and rear-hatch open, a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said.

While the man was attempting to move the car out of the street and into a nearby driveway, Margaret Carrica-Pults was discovered underneath the car.

Sun Lakes firefighters confirmed Pults died at the scene. She suffered burns to her back and head trauma consistent with being trapped under the car.

Pults was the owner of the Prius, MCSO said.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to reach out to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

As of now, the incident does not seem suspicious but the case remains under investigation.
