A popular salon shut down, suddenly, in Chandler, putting nearly 100 employees out of work.

The workers were told to pick up their belongings immediately. A sign posted outside of Dolce, located on Chandler Boulevard and Price Road, said it was closed for renovations, but employees claim that's not what they were told.

In a text message to the workers around 4 a.m. on Monday, the owner told them they were losing too much money to keep the doors open another 24 hours. They were told, come noon, their belongings had to be picked up. Now they're left looking for new jobs.

Many of the employees were left shocked and frustrated over the lack of a heads up.

The owner said closing down was the only way to ensure there was enough money to pay everyone their last paychecks.

They're annoyed with how they were communicated the news, as well. They say the text message was "nonchalant."

Now, they're left frantically searching for new jobs.

The Dolce salon located at Scottsdale Quarter will remain open. Customers who have gift cards can use it at that location.
