A police pursuit following a car theft incident in Chandler ended with a vehicle crash Saturday morning.
A man reportedly stole a woman's purse and vehicle in the Albertson's parking lot at Queen Creek and Alma School around 9:30 a.m., according to Chandler Police Sgt. Joseph Favazzo.
Officers located the stolen car in south Chandler before Gilbert Police became engaged in a short pursuit with the vehicle.
The suspect reportedly crashed the vehicle near Power Road and Chandler Heights a short time later and was taken to the hospital to be checked out. He is currently in police custody.
Chandler police say no one was injured in the initial car theft situation.
