CHANDLER, AZ — Chandler police say an investigation is underway after two people were found dead at a home early Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred near McClintock Drive and Ray Road.

Officials say police received 911 calls around 1 a.m. from a man who seemed to be intoxicated. The man was uncooperative and refused to provide his exact address, according to police.

Officers responded to the area and were unable to locate anyone in need of emergency assistance.

The man's family called 911 to report an unknown incident taking place within an apartment and police learned that there was a woman at the location who may be in danger.

Just after 2 a.m., police went to the residence and found a man outside with a gun. Officials say the man shot himself in view of the officers.

When police entered the residence, they found a woman who had been shot and killed. Officials say the woman was pregnant.

No other people were at the residence at the time of the incident.
