Two people are seriously hurt after a wrong-way driver caused a multiple-vehicle crash on the Loop 202 Santan freeway in Chandler Monday night.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Quentin Mehr said the female driver around 7:40 p.m. entered the highway going eastbound in the westbound lanes near Kyrene.
As she attempted to turn around, she collided head-on with a pickup, causing the truck to roll. The woman's SUV then struck a third vehicle.
Air15 video showed the pickup on its side in the roadway, and an SUV with heavy damage.
Two people were transported to the hospital for treatment, including the suspect driver who has been identified as 51-year-old Theresa Jordan of Phoenix. DPS told ABC15 she may be released from the hospital on Tuesday.
The second victim, a 37-year-old Phoenix man who was driving the pickup truck suffered multiple broken bones in his lower body.

Loop 202 was shut down near Loop 101 for some time as traffic was routed around the collision.
DPS says the cause of the crash appears to have been confusion, and Jordan was not wearing her glasses at the time. Other medical conditions may have also played a role in the crash.
It's not clear what charges she will face. The incident is still under investigation.
