Body camera just released by the Gilbert Police Department shows officers encounter with Davone Bess before his arrest.

The former NFL player was arrested in June after running from police and barricading himself inside his home.

In the first clips of the video, you hear music blasting from Bess’s car. Gilbert police pulled him over after spotting the car he was in without headlights.

Police surround the car, and Bess takes a while to step out of the car. Once Bess step out, the video shows him not cooperating with police commands.

“Put your hands up man,” said an officer.

Bess didn’t listen to commands, and got back in the car and left the scene.

While police followed Bess to his home, officers could be heard in the video saying that Bess was motioning with his hands as if he was going to shoot them. Police eventually surrounded the home Bess stopped at and negotiated with him for hours.

Police say Bess was seen occasionally putting a knife to his throat while inside his home during the negotiation.

SWAT was eventually sent in and a K-9 was used to help arrest Bess. Bess was taken into custody and taken to the hospital because of the dog bite.

Bess has since been released from jail. He is facing several charges including endangerment and running from police.
