ABC15 has obtained store security video that police say shows a Gilbert father shoplifting with his 4-year-old daughter.
Alvin Nez Jr., 32, is facing felony child abuse and shoplifting charges.
The video shows the man pushing his daughter in a cart at a Kohl’s store in June. The camera follows him as he puts electronic devices in his cart and covers them with a jacket. Police said Nez walked out of the store without paying for $1,400 worth of merchandise.
To make matters worse, Nez crashed his car while trying to get away, and his daughter wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, police said. He was found hiding with the child in a nearby office building.
