The Gilbert Fire Department responded to a house fire near Warner and Cooper roads shortly after 4 p.m. Monday.
When firefighters arrived, there were smoke and flames coming from the attic of the house.
Firefighters from Chandler also responded to the scene, and crews cut a hole in the roof to attack the flames.
Investigators said the fire was along the chimney and ran into the attic.
One person home at the time was able to get out before firefighters arrived.
The cause remains under investigation, though authorities said it does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
