Gilbert police are investigating an accident involving one of their officers on Wednesday night.
According to Lt. Hugh White, the officer suffered minor injuries following a T-bone accident at the intersection of Warner Road and Val Vista Drive.
Lt. White said the officer was traveling westbound on Warner Road with lights and sirens on.
As he traveled through the intersection, he was struck by a northbound vehicle on Val Vista Drive.
The officer was taken to the hospital as a precaution and the driver of the other vehicle did not need treatment.
The intersection was closed while police crews worked to clear the scene.
