Highland High School has been placed on lockdown after an “unsubstantiated bomb threat” Monday morning.

Students already at school are being held in place and no additional students, faculty or employees are being allowed onto campus until law enforcement conducts a search of the buildings and campus.

Gilbert police are asking students who have not left for school yet to stay home.

The school website will be updated with information.
