GILBERT, AZ — Highland High School in Gilbert was on lockdown after a threat Monday morning.
Police say the school was placed on lockdown while officers investigated, and students not already on campus were not allowed to enter.
Around 8:40 a.m., Gilbert police said the lockdown was lifted and the school was deemed to be secure.
"We will have an increased police presence on campus throughout the remainder of the day," police said on Twitter.
It's unknown where the threat originated.
The school is located near Power and Guadalupe roads.
