Officials have determined that the cause of a destructive five-alarm fire that broke out at a Gilbert apartment complex was an accident.
Gilbert Fire and Rescue investigators and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives found that a torch used by workers at the under-construction complex was the only known heat source at the scene.
More than 100 firefighters responded to the huge fire on Saturday. Heat from the fire damaged nearby streets and neighborhoods.
