GUADALUPE, Ariz. — Deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office have taken a barricade suspect into custody following an hours-long standoff near Avenida Del Yaqui and Calle Sonora (south of Priest and Baseline).
MCSO Sergeant Bryant Vanegas says an adult female was shot by the male suspect shortly after midnight at a home near Avenida Del Yaqui and Calle Sonora in the Town of Guadalupe.
The woman was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Sgt. Vanegas.
Following the alleged shooting, the male suspect barricaded himself in a nearby home, but was taken into custody shortly before 6 a.m.

All residents near the incident were evacuated for precautionary reasons, Sgt. Vanegas said.
