MESA, AZ — A brush fire sparked in the east Valley near Loop 202 and McKellips Road Wednesday morning.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said around 9:30 a.m. that the fire prompted the road closure of Loop 202 eastbound near Brown. Shortly after 10:00 a.m., the road was reopened.
The lanes were initially shut down so firefighters could get on scene and put out the flames.

It's unclear how the fire started.
