The City of Mesa says potential cloudy or milky tap water in the city is perfectly safe for residents.

Residents who live west of Val Vista Road may see cloudy or milky water because of air bubbles in their well water, according to the City of Mesa.

Mesa has temporarily switched from surface water to well water for routine maintenance on their system.

The water is safe to drink, according to the city, and will not harm plumbing or appliances.

“It's not harmful in any way, It’s more of an aesthetic issue but they're just small bubbles and they won't hurt anyone,” said Kathy McDonald with the City of Mesa.

The city says anyone with questions can contact the Water Quality Division at water.quality@mesaaz.gov or (480) 644-6461.
