A fiery, five-vehicle crash shut down eastbound lanes of US-60 during the Friday morning rush hour.
The crash occurred after 5:30 a.m. near Alma School Road.
Video from the Arizona Department of Transportation shows a large dump truck and several other vehicles engulfed in flames, blocking nearly all eastbound lanes.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety believes a car cut off the dump truck, causing it to crash through the center median and into oncoming eastbound traffic.
The truck hit two other vehicles before coming to a stop in the middle of the freeway and catching fire. Up to 10 vehicles were damaged in this and secondary wrecks.
According to Mesa Fire Department, crews treated eleven patients, including two who were taken to trauma centers.
Delays were heavy in westbound lanes through rush hour and eastbound traffic was reopened around 10:30 a.m.
