MESA, AZ — With the end of Arizona's stay at home order, churches around the Valley reopened their doors for services, including Living Word Bible Church in Mesa.
"It's a little more powerful to get the atmosphere along with the word," says Living Word member Shannon Weber. She's one of many participating in the church's indoor services after participating in drive-up and online services for weeks. She says, "It feels good to be back to a little bit of the normal and have the whole service."
The new normal at Living Word means continuing outside and online services with the addition of limited inside services. "It's extremely spread out. Every family has to be distanced by six feet and it's every other row so no ones within that six feet," says Living Word Local Outreach Director Cliff Maes.
Living Word says they're following all state guidelines including temperature check upon entering the enclosed space and limiting sanctuary capacity to 25 percent. Maes says, "We've done everything we can to not close our doors, stay open and have the ability for people to come and worship how they would like."
