MESA, AZ — A man previously arrested for reportedly trying to have sex with his cat has been arrested for attempted sexual conduct with a minor and possession of dangerous drugs.
According to Mesa police, 40-year-old Michael Navage was texting who he thought was a 14-year-old girl, but was actually an undercover Mesa Police Detective. Police say the messages discussed sex acts and plans for Navage to meet with the undercover agent.
Several Mesa crime units, including SWAT, Internet Crimes Against Children, and Adult Probation, worked together to find Navage and take him into custody at the arranged meeting place.
In March, Navage was arrested for allegedly committing bestiality with a cat. The person who called police said they saw Navage take his cat into the bathroom. The caller then heard the cat screaming, and Navage saying, "the cat was stuck on his penis." He also reportedly heard Navage yell at the cat, calling it a "whore."
Navage was on pre-trial release in that case and is now being held without bond for the most recent charges.
