MESA, AZ — A group of parents in Mesa is getting creative to give their students the graduation celebration they deserve.

Westwood High School seniors, and their families, are invited to the Digital Drive-In Thursday, May 21, to screen the district's virtual graduation video, and "walk the stage" to receive a fake diploma.

"I truly think that this is the best we could make out of the situation since we aren't getting a graduation ceremony," said Westwood Senior Erin Rice.

"We just wanted to make it a very memorable night for all the seniors," said Anissa Bark, whose daughter is graduating this year.

Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

The drive-in is located off North Alma School Road and the Loop 202. Tickets are $22 per vehicle. Gates open at 6:30pm and the event starts at 7:30pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Organizers have also set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for students and families who would like to attend, but cannot afford a ticket.
