A Mesa man shot a woman inside an apartment while there were three children inside the home.
According to court documents, on January 23 around 4 a.m. near Alma School and Baseline roads, police arrived to hear 26-year-old Logan Ari Mix yell, "I didn't mean to shoot you, I didn't mean to do that."
Witness told police Mix went into his bedroom, retrieved a handgun and after making threats against the woman shot her in the left leg during a party at the home.
The woman yelled to others nearby to "run for their lives."
Police had a difficult time with the woman, who had to be sedated before being transported to a hospital.
Police say there were three children in the apartment at the time of the shooting aging from 7 years to 4 months of age.
Police found a gun in the bathroom of the home.
Mix is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault and five counts of disorderly conduct.
