Authorities say the rider of a motorcycle and a passenger were killed in a crash with a minivan Friday night.

According to the Mesa Police Department, the minivan turned left from Main Street onto Greenfield. In doing so the minivan turned in front of the motorcycle, which was heading westbound on Main.

The rider, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger on the motorcycle was taken to the hospital where she later died, police said.

Police have identified the deceased as 50-year-old Glynn Martin Myers and 48-year-old Deborah Pierce.

The two people inside the minivan were not hurt. Investigators said impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
