MESA, AZ — Mesa police are investigating a single-vehicle crash involving two adults and two young children.
At about 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning, emergency crews were called to the area of Dobson and Broadway roads for reports of a crash.
Officials with the Mesa Fire Department say a vehicle hit a power pole and a fire hydrant.
Upon arrival, crews found downed electrical wires near the vehicle and had a total of four patients.
A 23-year-old mother and a 2-year-old boy were transported to a hospital in critical condition. A 32-year-old man was transported in stable condition.
Officials say a 1-year-old was also driven to a nearby hospital by another family member that arrived at the scene. The baby is said to have been uninjured.
Crews worked with Salt River Project (SRP) and city water to secure the power to the pole and fire hydrant water.
It's unclear what caused the driver to lose control. The Mesa Police Department is investigating.
