Police looking for leads in armed robbery at Mesa board shop

MESA, AZ — Police are looking for two people involved in a robbery at a Mesa board shop near Southern Avenue and Gilbert Road.

Surveillance video shows an armed man wearing a ski mask robbing the Freedom Board Shop around 4 p.m. on January 21.

The video also shows a woman wandering around the store during the robbery. Authorities say they aren't sure if the woman was a witness to the crime, or connected to the robbery.

Police say after the man grabbed cash from the register, investigators believe he and the woman fled led through the rear exit to a getaway car being driven by a third suspect.

The male suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet, 8 inches - 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 250-280 pounds. He was wearing a red beanie, red and black ski mask with tribal design, red gloves, black coat, gray shirt, and black pants.

The woman, who police are describing as an investigative lead, is described as a white female, 25-35 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 170-180 pounds with strawberry blonde hair in a bun, a tattoo behind her right ear, dermal piercing on the right cheek. She was wearing a red shirt, black leggings, and a red purse.

The suspect's car is described as a red, Nissan Sentra with extensive rear-end damage.
