MESA, AZ — An armed man is in custody after a barricade situation in Mesa Sunday afternoon.

Mesa police were called to a home near Main Street and Gilbert Road after the man's parents called police to say the man may have fired a gun inside their home.

When officers arrived on scene, the heard what sounded like a gunshot coming from the home, according to Detective Chris Adamczyk.

Neighbors also reported hearing several loud "banging" noises coming from the home, said Adamczyk.
