MESA, AZ — A child has been transported to a local hospital after being pulled from a Mesa pool Thursday afternoon.
The Mesa Fire and Medical Department says they responded to a pediatric drowning call at 1:05 p.m. to a home near Stapley Drive and McKellips Road.
When officials arrived, they found a child under 2-years-old in cardiac arrest.
It was reported that the child was found unresponsive in the backyard pool.

It is unclear what led to the child being in the pool.
There was no fence around the pool at the time of the incident.
The child is still in critical condition and has regained pulses and respiration’s.
